No Enemies, No Race: One Human Space

Everyone is born with innate peace and seeds of compassion. Many of us just need a guiding light to connect inwardly, learning to cultivate and nurture this inner garden.

This art form is inspired by the indigenous people of my area and their history of the sacred Sun Dance along with ancestral knowledge of Eastern philosophies. I have been exploring how these teachings have blended and evolved across cultures and envision what they might become here to be of greater potential to those who seek a clean sense of salvation.

Art as meditation, prayer, action

Imagining a new form of meditative art is, in a way, like the mandala theme found in Buddhism. Traditionally, mandalas are intricate designs used as spiritual teachings that represent the universe and aid in meditation. In this approach, I weave together simple but profound timeless principles within the expressive powers of abstraction while incorporating and honoring Indigenous inherent union of nature, spirit, and community found across all cultures. This art form emphasizes the beauty of impermanence and selflessness, encouraging deeper contemplation of how healing oneself leads to the healing of humanity.

"Non-self" does not mean that you, I, or these paintings do not exist. It means that nothing can exist by itself, everything arises interdependently within our interconnected universe. These paintings cannot manifest without you, heaven, and earth all within it, revealed altogether at once.
