No Enemies, No Race: One Human Space

Everyone is born with innate peace and seeds of compassion. Many of us just need a guiding light to connect inwardly, learning to cultivate and nurture this inner garden.

This art form is inspired by the indigenous people of my area and their history of the sacred Sun Dance along with ancestral knowledge of Eastern philosophies. I have been exploring how these teachings have blended and evolved across cultures and envision what more they might become here blended into wisdom of the West to be of greater potential for us today who seek more understanding and connection to our gift of salvation.

Expanding one’s consciousness through art.

Imagining a new form of meditative art resembles the mandala theme found in Buddhism. Traditionally, mandalas are intricate designs that serve as spiritual teachings, representing the universe and aiding in meditation. In this approach, I explore the incorporation of Indigenous understandings of the unity of nature, spirit, and humanity as a fundamental aspect of the creative process. This integration facilitates an expansion of one’s consciousness through the expressive powers of abstraction. Ultimately, this art form serves as a portal of awareness into the infinite.

"Non-self" does not mean that you, I, or these paintings do not exist. It means that nothing can exist by itself, everything arises interdependently within our interconnected universe. These paintings cannot manifest without you, heaven, and earth all within it, revealed altogether at once.
