Everyone is born with the seed of compassion.

Everyone has the potential to be their inner Buddha.

This art form brings together the wisdom of Buddhism with the sacred sacrifice of the Sun Dance. Inspired by how Buddhism has evolved across cultures, I explore what these teachings might become here and now—blending American Indian traditions of sacrifice for the whole with Eastern philosophies into a living expression rooted in community and transformation.

These works are created in service of healing the world and all living beings. A tangible unity of Buddhist perspective with Indigenous connection to land, spirit, and community—forming a living expression that emerges through their relationship.

“Non-self” does not mean that you, I, or these paintings do not exist. It means that nothing can exist by itself, everything arises interdependently within our interconnected universe. These paintings cannot manifest without you, heaven, and earth all within it, revealed altogether at once.

Buddhism is not a religion. Buddha is not a god to be worshipped. He was a person who had become overwhelmed by his personal suffering just as we all do. He had discovered a direct pathway through his suffering and devoted himself to then help all beings connect and thrive within liberation.
